Michael Cochran

Michael “Mickey” Jerry Cochran, 46, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Princeton Community Hospital.  Born on July 1, 1975, in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of Jerry and Esther Walker Cochran of Bluefield, WV. 

Mickey had been a resident of Bluefield, West Virginia all his life. After graduating from PSHS in 1993 he continued his education at Bluefield State College where he obtained an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had also worked twenty years for Verizon.

Mickey was also of the Methodist faith.  Mickey was a lifelong Boston Celtics and Dale Earnhardt fan. He also had a love for vintage cars and his favorite was the 1965 Pontiac GTO. 

Those preceding Mickey in death are his paternal grandparents, Tom and Elizabeth Cochran and maternal grandparents, Paul and Arabella Walker.  

In addition to his parents’ survivors include, wife, Kimberly Cochran of Bluefield, WV; step-son, J.R. Osborn of Bluefield, VA; sisters, Penny Boyd and husband Michael of Bluefield, WV, and Candy Fulp and husband Scott of Princeton, WV; and three nieces, Caitlin Fulp, Sydney Fulp, and Jenna Boyd.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with family friend Russ Lambert officiating. Music will be provided by cousin,  Casey Lewis.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where friends and family will serve as pallbearers.  

Friends may call prior to services, from 12:30-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
