Joel Frederic Pennington, 55, of Debra Road, Falls Mills, VA, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 11, 1960 in Bluefield, he was a son of James F. Pennington of Falls Mills, VA and the late Melba I. Leonard Pennington. He had been a lifelong resident of Falls Mills, was a graduate of Graham High School and attended the Falls Mills Christian Church. He was a retired terminal manager for Overnight in Fairmont, WV, Indianapolis, IN and Tulsa, OK. After his retirement, he worked as a service manager for Cole Nissan. He was an avid WVU fan.

Great nieces and nephews who called him Paw-Paw Fred: “Brodster”, “Chunky”, “Turtle”, and “Tater”
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Tim Carbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Steven Ford, Dale Roberts, Tyler Barreras, Dustin Rose, Chris Martin and Keith Farmer serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
The family asks to honor Joel by wearing WVU blue and gold for the visitation and funeral.
