William Edgar Sheets

William Edgar “Bill” Sheets, 93, of Princeton, WV, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on January 25, 1927 in Elkhorn, WV, he was a son of the late Edgar and Bertha Mary Shage Sheets. He had been a resident of Princeton for 46 years and was a retired coal miner for Eastern Associated Coal Company and a proud member of UMWA. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served during World War II. He was of the Protestant faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Sheets.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia (Phillip) Hurst of Mooresville, NC; granddaughter, Christy (Shad) Hurst-Aul, a sister, Mary M. Price of Holland, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with his Rev. Danny Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

Friends may call on Saturday prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
