William Chester “Pete” Mullin, of Bluefield, West Virginia formerly of Lanham, Maryland passed away peacefully on October 03, 2019 at Harper Mills Nursing Home in Beckley, West Virginia.
Pete was born on March 11, 1921 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Chester and Kate Arrington Mullin. He was raised in the Bluefield area and then moved to Maryland where he resided for many years.
William was a very proud veteran serving his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII; He was engaged in the battle of Normandy in Northern France. After coming home from the war Pete went to work for Trailways, he retired from Trailways as a bus driver. Pete always enjoyed coming home each year for the Mullin reunion. He was an avid car fan, owned and admired classic cars. He enjoyed visiting his friends at the VFW in Maryland.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Faye C. Mullin; he was also preceded in death by all his siblings. Pete was the last surviving member of his family.
Pete is survived and will be missed by his numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 05, 2019 at 7:00pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, West Virginia with Rev. Glen Goins officiating the service. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 07, 2019 at 3:00pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting Military graveside rites. Friends and family will be serving as pallbearers.
The Mullin family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, October 05, 2019 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
