William R. Hesse, Jr.

On Thursday, February 28, 2019, William R. Hesse, Jr., age 76, of Bluefield, WV, lost his battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord.

Born on May 31, 1942, in Fayetteville, WV, he was the son of the late William R. Hesse, Sr. and Kathleen S. Hesse. He had been a resident of Brushfork for the last 23 years and was formerly employed by Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Hunter B. Hesse and Kevin Todd Hesse.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Linda Hesse of Bluefield, WV; his children, Richard Hesse (Karen) of Riverview, FL, Syndia Blankenship (Jake) of Ballard, WV, Shanda Conley of Pearisburg, VA, Fallon Howdock (Steven) of Ballard, WV, Jarrettee Hesse (Leah) of Bluefield, WV, Janell Bryan (Mike) of Richlands, NC, Michael Sanderson (Shawn) of Richlands, NC, and Keith Sanderson (Crystal) of Richlands, NC; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Janet Hesse (Barbara) of Aguanga, CA; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Kenny Bogart officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

Friends may call at the Mausoleum Chapel prior to services from 1:00-2:00.
