William "Buck" Davidson

William R. Davidson, Jr. “Buck”, 66, of Bluefield went to be with his Heavenly Father after a very short illness on Monday, April 23, 2018.

Born on September 26, 1951 to the late Roy and Peggy Nester Davidson. Buck spent 43 years doing what he loved best… driving tractor trailers cross country.
 

Buck asked to first thank a few of his friends, whom he loved dearly: doctors, M.I. Khokar, Amos Lane, Ricky Bradley, and Dr. Yadav; nurse practitioners, Adam Hodovan, Ruthie Rhodes, Sean McKenzie, and Tim Prescott; nurses, Kathy Frost, Trish Suiter, Jessica Weiss, Beverly Bradley, Tina Gillenwater, Pam Workman, Kathy Shaffer, Lisa Marrs, and Heather Dent; supervisors, Kim Poe, Joe Hendricks, Phyllis Martin; and special friends, Donna Hatcher Surface, Jr. Surface, Marsha Midkiff, and Patti Saunders. All of these people had this kind and loving man very spoiled. May God bless each and every one of you including all of those at Princeton Community Hospital.

Buck will be sadly missed by his wife of 35 years, Veleda Cumby Davidson; two sons, Bill (Cyndee) Davidson of Peachland, NC, and Robert (Robin) Davidson of Greensboro, NC; a grandson, Will (Destiny) Davidson of Peachland, NC; two granddaughters, Haylee (Preston) Davidson of Concord, NC, Brooke Murphy of Greensboro, NC; and two great granddaughters, Savannah and Ava; two precious fur babies and protectors, Little Man and Luke; sister, Linda (Bobby) Ruble of Roanoke Rapids, NC; brother, Mark (Katrina) Davidson of Bland, VA; sister in law, Melissa Bunker (Greg Clay) of Beckley, WV; brother in law, Virgil (Faye) Cumby of Statesville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and two aunts.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Ministers John Blessing and Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Harry Family Cemetery in Falls Mills, VA. with nephews and grandsons serving as pallbearers, Stephen Bunker, Virgil Cumby, Jason Kegley, Justin Kegley, Harley Davidson, and Will Davidson.

Friends may call Thursday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
