William Lewis "Sonny" Bevins

William Lewis “Sonny” Bevins, 78, of Narrows, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his home.

Born on January 30, 1941 in Northfork, he was a son of the late Lewis G. and Sarah H. Davidson Bevins. He was a retired electrician for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company and formerly worked for Reynold’s Aluminum. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a gifted musician and spread music through several different venues where he made lots of friends. He enjoyed his band and the members that played with him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Mark Bevins.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Laura Jane (Mike) Fields of Richmond, VA

Brother: Phillip (Kay) Bevins of Princeton

Sister: Carol Aderon Knuckles of Bramwell

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Tim Lacy officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow at the Bevins-Belcher Cemetery in Coaldale.

Friends may call on Wednesday, prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
