William Buford Belcher, 76, of Bluefield, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021 at his home with his loving wife by his side.
Born April 12, 1945 in Crystal, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Willie and Myrtle Brooks Belcher. He was a resident of Bluefield all his life and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Fairmont Supply Company in Bluefield, WV. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam conflict having served with the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Judy Key.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ruth Belcher of the home; 3 sisters, Glenda Holbrook of Bluefield, VA, Juanita Belcher of Bluefield, WV, and Noreen Lusk (Hasel) of Johnsburg, IL; one brother, Fairley Belcher (Lois) of Hot Springs, AR; and sister-in-law, Judy Harrold and her son, Steven Harrold of Falls Mills, VA. He is also survived by three special friends, Ray Powell, Jimmy Martin, and Timmy Wimmer.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, April 30, 2021, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Military graveside honors will be preformed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home at 1:15 on Friday.
Pallbearers will be, Jimmy Martin, Ray Powell, Steven Harrold, Timmy Wimmer, Jim Hill, Charlie Moore, and Gary Taylor.
