Virginia Hylton, 103, of Bluefield, WV passed away May 12, 2021 after a life well lived. Raised in McDowell County by her parents Arthur and Annie Smith. She was a graduate of Gary High School class of 1937.
She was preceded in death by her husband Asie Hylton, her son Larry and grandson Chris Burton; her sisters, Dorothy Morrison, Jo Willis, Alma Blankenship, Bonnie Barber, and Ramona Brady; her brothers, JC Smith and Bill Price.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters Vicki (Don) Rankin and Sherry (Tom) Burton; sister, Dina Jones; grandchildren Jennifer Stedem, Eric Rankin, Matt Burton and Jordon Burton; great-grandchildren Taylor and Wesley Stedem, Samantha Rankin, Olivia, Malec, Lili, Tyce, and Mila Burton; and special nephew Jack Willis.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving the church and its members for many years. An avid walker and reader, her greatest joy was playing cards and going to Myrtle Beach with her family. Special thanks are given to Amedisys Hospice and Ray Asbury for their gentle care.
Crypt side Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell with Counselor Danny Meade officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3:30-4:00 at the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
