Virginia Ruby Compton

Virginia Ruby Compton, 87, of Pinnacle Lake Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg.

Born on June 23, 1935 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Tommy and Lizzie Hager Holt. She had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was retired from Dairy Queen on Cumberland Road.

She was preceded in death in death by her husband, Clenen Compton.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Compton of Bluefield; a daughter, Pam Clark and husband Randy of Bluefield, a granddaughter, Samantha Bezares and husband JB and a great grandson, River Bezares.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. James Mooney officiating. Burial will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Thursday at 10:30 AM.
