Virgie Charlotte Riffe, 94, of Bluefield, WV, and formerly of Falls Mills, VA, entered eternal life on Friday, April 21, 2017 and rests in the arms of God. Born on March 31, 1923 in Wyoming County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie Lester Riffe. Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother. She was an ever-flowing wellspring of love and nurture for her children. She made her family a huge priority and treated everyone with respect and care. She always had time for everyone no matter who or what the situation. More than a hero, she was kind, gentle, and a loving spirit to everyone who knew her. Her striking talents consisted of being a great storyteller, quilter, apple pie baker, possessing impeccable grace and unfailing calm under any pressure. Throughout her life, she was known for her legendary stamina and sense of humor and her ability to see the good in all things, coupled with her personal warmth and extreme generosity, having deeply touched all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her thoughts were always for the consideration of others. Preparing a fresh garden meal or a comfortable room to rest brought her pleasure. Her incredible spirit has touched the lives of all who have met her. Her immediate family, sons, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have always been her main focus in life. As we look at the stars shining brightly, we will keep her memory close to our hearts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold E.
