Vinson Conley Epperson, Jr.

Vinson Conley Epperson, Jr., 68, of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at ARH Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia.

Vinson was born on January 29, 1951 in Northfork, West Virginia to the late Vinson Conley Epperson, Sr and Christine Barnette Epperson. He had been a resident of Bluefield for the past 34 years and was a retired coal miner. Vinson served his county during the Vietnam War in the United Sates Marine Corps. He was a member of the local VFW.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Timmy Epperson and one sister Shirly Oiler.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Karen Martin King Epperson on the home; Three sons Vinson Robert Epperson and wife Shanna of Nashville, Tennessee, Brandon Epperson and wife Donna of Woodstock, Alabama and Michael Epperson of Norfolk, Virginia; One brother David Epperson of Tazewell, Virginia and two sisters Karen Meadows and husband Fuzzy of Marshville, North Carolina and Laurinda Stiltner and husband Leon of Tazewell, Virginia. He is also survived by three grandchildren Nate, Jack and Sophie. Close friend David Hancock of Bluefield, West Virginia.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 01, 2019 at 2:00pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with Rev. Danny Scott officiating the service. The Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting Military rites for Vinson at the funeral home.  Private interment will be held at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia.    

The Epperson family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, November 01, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
