Verney “Ray” Jennings, 76, of Tabernacle Hill, Montcalm, WV, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home.
Born on June 13, 1941 in Weynoke, WV, he was a son of the late James Hobart and Nannie Bell Grose Jennings. He had been a resident of Montcalm and McComas for his entire life and was retired from the maintenance department at Bluefield State College.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Dunn Jennings; daughter, Betty Pruett; granddaughter, Shelley; brothers, Woodrow, Clifford, Otis, Albert, Frankie, Kyle (Boogie), Gerald, Roland, Harley, and Bobby; and sisters, Flossie, Joyce and Janice.

Daughters: Priscilla (Earl) Turner of Montcalm
Drema (David) Hensley of Glenwood
Pamela Belcher of Montcalm
13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild
Brothers: Walter Jennings of McComas
Billy Wayne Jennings of Morgantown
Twin Sister: Louise Hodge of Bluefield
A host of nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Eddie Mabe officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where grandsons, Jason, Bobby, Jeff, Aaron, Montana, and Nathaniel will serve as pallbearers. Alyx Hensley, Damien Akers and Trent Bolton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
