Vanessa Gale Looney

Vanessa Gale Looney, 61, of Wolf Creek Highway, Rocky Gap, VA, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the home of her daughter.   Born on March 25, 1956 in Campbellsburg, KY, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Carter. She had been a resident of Bluefield since 1978 and was a homemaker.   Survivors include her:   Husband:             Wayne Looney of Rocky Gap, VA   Son:       Estell “Poncho” Carter and wife Jamie of Bluefield   Daughter:            Melinda “Booter” Bailey and husband Charles of Bluefield   Step-daughter: Jennifer Frye-Botelho of Hanover, PA   9 grandchildren: Ashton Bailey, Ashlynn Bailey, Bobby Carter, Bradley Carter, Paige Carter, Skyler Dillow, Hunter Dillow, Tanner Dillow and Jacob Looney.   Brother:               Kline Carter of Carrollton, KY   Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Bishop Michael York officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Wayne Looney, Charles “Buddy” Bailey, Estell “Poncho” Carter, Bobby Carter, Lonzo Mullins and Michael Shrader serving as pallbearers.   Friends may call on Friday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.   Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com
