Viola Spence Johnson, 96, of Loving Hands Adult Care, Bluefield, WV, formerly of Coalwood, WV passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Loving Hands Adult Care. She was born on July 11, 1921 and was a daughter, of Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Johnson. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. She served as treasurer and a Sunday School teacher at her church in Coalwood. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Johnson; son, Ronnie Johnson and a daughter Barbara JoLyn Metten; grandson, Bobby Metten; two sisters, Josephine Cline and Virginia Roberts. She is survived by four nephews, John Shreve, Rita Sayer Shreve of Princeton and Alvin Cline and Raeanne of Welch, jerry Barrett and Mary of Claypool Hill, VA and Dickie Johnson and Julie of Bluefield. Also surviving is her close friend and caregiver, Vicki Cline of Bluefield and her second family, the staff of Loving Hands Adult Care. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Jerry Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Dillon Cline, Logan Cline, Jeffrey Cline and Tony Cline will serve as pallbearers. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
