Una Tess Shupe Carner, 91, of Pinnacle View Road (Bluewell), passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Princeton Health Care Center. Born on April 10, 1926 in Midway, she was a daughter of the late C.A. and Ruby Sloan Gregory Shupe. She had been a longtime resident of Bluewell and was a devoted member and co-founder of the Bluewell United Methodist Church where she served on several committees. She was the head of their apple butter making for 20 years and baked rolls for many church functions and dinners for everyone who enjoyed them. She attended Beaver High School and had worked at Kresgee’s and Shupe’s Market before embarking on a 50 year career (1963-2013) with Tupperware, she was well known throughout the community as being “The Tupperware Lady”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Oakley Carner and Ralph Carner; and a brother, Edison “Ed” Shupe, sister Ramona Shupe Riggins and infant nephew Dale Riggins. Special niece and nephew whom she loved and cared for as her own, Phyllis Ann Shupe Miles and Jerry Lee Shupe Survivors include: Sister in law: Ida Shupe of Bluewell whom she referred to as a sister Special great niece and caregiver: Candance Lawson Several nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews, 14 great-great nieces and nephews Multiple cousins Special friends: Sharon Wingate and Brenda Fanning Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Bluewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Melissa White and Rev. David Ratcliff officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Waterfall Mausoleum in Bluewell where Chris Miles, Richard Shupe, Jr., Brandon Shupe, Andrew Hudgins, Jeff Bowling, Toby Lange, John Walter Miles, Adam David-Ray Lawson, and Michael A. Lawson will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 PMat the church. Friends and family may call at the home of Ida Shupe for post viewing reception.
