Timothy Douglas Tilley

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Timothy “Too Tall” Douglas Tilley, of Ravencliff, WV, on March 31, 2024, at the age of 61. 

Born on October 18, 1962, in Parkersburg, WV, to the late Arnold and Virginia Tilley. He was a graduate of Glen Rogers High School, Class of 1981. Following graduation, he went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps and, additionally, served many years in the National Guard. He went on to work many years in the oil/gas industry. He had a larger than life personality and never met a stranger. Tim will be remembered for his love of life, family, and community. 

Left to cherish is memory are his children, Kris Parker (Linda) of St. Albans, WV, and Virginia Hopper (Brian) of Bluefield, WV. Four grandchildren; EllaMae, Evalynn, Vincent, and Brody Hopper. He will also be greatly missed by his two sisters, Linda Gail O’Brien and Tonjia Garretson Champion (Bob) of Coal City, as well as many extended and chosen families. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Gary, Larry, and Arnold Tilley, and one sister, Margaret Broyles. 

Tim’s life celebration will be at 3pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home of Bluewell, WV, with Pastor Tiffany Brashear officiating. Visitation will begin at 2pm until the time of service.
