Tim McCoy

Tim McCoy, 76, of Falls Mills, Virginia, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Dogwood Crossing Senior Living and Memory Care in Tazewell, VA.  Born November 12, 1943 in Mohawk, WV, he was the son of the late Melvin and Velvie Stanley McCoy. Tim had been a resident of Falls Mills since 1986.  He was a retired engineer for Norfolk Southern and was a veteran of The United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Tabor McCoy and one sister, Georgie White.

Those left to cherish Tim’s memory are two daughters, Tara White and husband, Philip of Falls Mills, VA, and Tonya Elmore and husband, Mark of North Tazewell, VA; two sisters, Melda Combs and husband, Russell of Princeton, WV, and Linda White and husband, Wayne of Princeton, WV; four grandchildren, Rickey and Rachel White, and Haley and Laken Elmore.

Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Bluefield Church of God in Bluefield, Virginia with Reverend Tony Ellis and Minister Tony Reed officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Military Rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.  Mark White, Carl White, Russell Combs, Jr., Mark Tabor, Mark Elmore, Philip White, Rickey White, and Landon Tabor will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Wayne White, Russell Combs, Jack Sarver, Paul Widdoes, and Bill Tabor.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Bluefield Church of God.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV is serving the McCoy family.
