Thomas "Sonny" Wooldridge

March 11, 1950 — December 7, 2017

Thomas “Sonny” Wooldridge, 67, of Anawalt, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.   Born on March 11, 1950 in Anawalt, he was a son of the late Charlie and Ramona Dillon Wooldridge. He had been a lifelong resident of Anawalt and was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Gary High School and was a veteran of US Army. He was a former coal miner and member of UMWA. He later worked and retired from the WV Dept of highways as a heavy equipment operator. He loved his children and loved hunting and fishing.   Survivors include:   Wife:     Barbara Miller Wooldridge of the home   Son:       Thomas Wooldridge of Charlotte, NC   Daughter:            Rachael Hunt and husband Joey of Atlanta, GA   Grandchildren:  Emily and Lauren Hunt of Atlanta, GA   Brother:               William Wooldridge of Bluefield, VA   Sisters in law:     Jessie Finley and husband Dallas                                 Diane Bailey and husband Simon   Brothers in law: Roy Hatfield and wife Angie                                 Tommy Moore and wife Cindy                                 Jesse Lee McGrady and wife Kathy   Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Donnie Farmer and Rev. Marlene Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with friends and family serving as pallbearers.   Friends may call on Monday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.   Online condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the family.
