Thomas Edward Marushia Sr., 75, of Willow Bend Road Lindside, West Virginia passed away on Monday, September 09, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Thomas was born on January 03, 1944 in Davy, West Virginia to the late Joe Marushia and Blanche Jewell Marushia. Thomas was a retired coal miner after 25 years underground and was a member of the UMWA. He served his country proudly in the United States Marines. Thomas had called Monroe County, WV home for the last 21 years and was a member of the Pentecostal of Holiness church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Ann Franklin Marushia; four brothers, Joe Marushia Jr., Carl Marushia, Benny Marushia, and Richard Marushia; five sisters Norma Jean, Eula, Tennie, Ellen, and Mary.
He is survived by his son Thomas Edward Marushia Jr., of Lindside, West Virginia
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia with Rev. Tommy Craft and Rev. Mark Pennington officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, West Virginia where Jordan Dotson, Jonathan Dotson, Mark Bayle, Ryan Bayle, Cory Hatcher, and Malan Franklin will be serving as pallbearers.
The Marushia family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.
