Thomas William “Bill” Harman, Jr. of Pocahontas, VA died November 7, 2023 following a long illness. He was born on April 23, 1949 to the late Thomas William Harman, Sr. and the late Claire Harman and lived most of his life in Bramwell, WV. He was a 1968 graduate of Bramwell High School and Mercer County Technical Center. He was known for his ability to “do anything” regarding electrical work, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry and masonry work. He worked for several people in the Bramwell area as a “jack of all trades.” He had a rare sense of humor and often left his friends scratching their heads from some of his witticisms. A daughter, Quannah, preceded him in death, as did his grandparents.
Thomas is survived by a daughter, Qunicey, and her family in Indiana. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Donnie) Goins of Bramwell, a brother, Robert (Julie) Harman of Elliston, VA, a half-sister, Margaret Fohr of Wisconsin and their families.
The last ten years of his life he lived in Pocahontas, VA and enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of the residents of the Indian Princess Apartments. By his request he was cremated and there will be no services. As the Bluestone River winds around Bramwell, “Bill” asked that his friends remember him one last time walking around the town he loved. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Harman family.
