Our hero, Terry Luther Furches, 68, of Bluefield, WV, was reunited with his high school sweetheart and love of his life (Bunchy) Risa Lou Furches on April 20, 2022. He worked as a coal miner for 18 years and believed in the Catholic and Latter-Day Saints faith. Terry loved and cherished his cat, Azrael, taking his boat to the lake, listening to tunes, and watching movies. Born October 4, 1953 in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Fred Elmer and Edna Katherine Crawford Furches. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Risa Lou Furches; infant sister, Donna Gail Furches; and granddaughter, Kelsey Franklin.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Terrisa Smothers and husband, Charles III, Sherry Franklin, and Erin Furches; grandchildren, Jonathan Jennings, Harley Jennings, Kasey Franklin, Chelsey Franklin, Logan Krauss, Gabriel Lambert, and Leah Lambert; great-grandchild, and Addisin Jennings. He would want his grandkids to know he is always near and his memory will forever live on inside each one of his so loved family members hearts because superhero’s never truly die.
In keeping with Terry’s wishes, he will be cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Furches family.
