Teresa Lavern Brooks

Teresa Lavern Brooks, of Bluefield, WV, passed away, on February 3, 2023, at her home.

Born on May 29, 1972, in Bluefield, WV, growing up in the Pinoak area, she was a daughter of Thomas Ray Ward and the late Marketta Lavern Walker-Ward.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Crystal Irene Ward and husband Clifton Clower; grandparents, Ernest and Anna Shrader-Walker; and Uncle Michael Walker.

Survivors include her father, Thomas Ray Ward of Bluefield, WV; daughter, Kayla Clower, of the home; two beautiful grandchildren, Addison and Luna Clower; fiancé of six years, Jason Umberger, all of Bluefield, WV; siblings, Renee Heaton of Phoenix, AZ, Samantha Ward of Princeton, WV, and Patience Ward of Linside, WV; uncles and aunts, Russell Walker and Damon Walker, both of Princeton, WV, Ernie Walker, Myron Walker, Arlene Walker, and Natalie Akers all of Pinoak.

In keeping with Teresa’s wishes she will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
