Teddy J. Watkins

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (1 Timothy 4:7). Teddy J. Watkins, 67, of Bluewell, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 9, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Born April 4, 1956, he was the son of the late Marshall and Elsie Watkins of Worth, WV. Ted loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Princeton, WV, where he served as secretary and treasurer for many years. Ted fought a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, and Parkinsons’ disease. He never complained, and his faith never wavered, and was truly a testimony for all. Ted graduated from Northfork High School, class of 1974. Ted last worked as store manager for Schewel Furniture in Princeton until his retirement. He enjoyed all sports, and was a die-hard NFL Raiders Fan. Ted was an easy-going, kind hearted man who was always willing to help someone in need. He will be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Darlene Watkins of the home, two children, Charles Robert Baillargeon, of Nemours, WV, and Stefany Puckett of Huntington, WV. Grandchildren: Nicolas Teddy Baillargeon of the home. Tanner Baillargeon, Carson Baillargeon, Damon Baillargeon, and his “sweetie-pie” Sienna Baillargeon of Nemours, WV. Sister Glenna (Greg) Sizemore of Bluefield, WV; brothers, Eddie (Lynn) Mullins of Worth, WV and Joe Watkins of Bluewell, WV. And a host of nieces and nephews. Love and appreciation to his son Charles and his niece Amy Dillon for personal care and help with Ted. A sincere thank you to his team Bluefield Amedysis Hospice. Services will be held October 12 at Cravens-Shires at 7:00 with Elder Thurman Belcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 prior to the service hour. The family will honor Ted’s request to be cremated.
