Tara Michelle Thompson, 38, of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her mother’s home after a long battle with ovarian cancer.Tara was born on April 17, 1979 in Wytheville, Virginia to Richard “Rick” Thompson and Pamela Bryant Thompson. Tara was a graduate of Graham High School and was a certified Dental Assistant she was currently working as a bartender and waitress at Texas Steakhouse. Tara was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Ual Thompson and Material grandfather Acie Bryant. Tara is survived by her son Devontae Johnson of Bluefield, West Virginia; mother Pamela “Pam” Bryant Thompson of Bluefield, West Virginia; father Richard “Rick” Thompson of Bluefield, West Virginia; three sisters Robin Thompson Yates of Bluefield, West Virginia; Jennifer Jackson of Roanoke, Virginia and Angie Groseclose of Abbs Valley, Virginia. Maternal grandmother Vivian Bryant of Bluefield, Virginia and paternal grandmother Maxine Thompson of Bluefield, West Virginia. Her devoted boyfriend of twelve years Joshua Stokes of Bluefield, West Virginia. A memorial service will be held for Tara on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, West Virginia with Pastor Ernie Yates officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
