Susan Hodges

Susan Berkey Hodges, 71, of Rock, WV, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at Mercer Healthcare Center. Born October 20, 1952 in Goshen, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Melton and Violet Fry Berkey. Susan was a homemaker, a loving mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Ray Hodges, Sr.; son, Ronnie Ray Hodges, Jr.; and brother, Tim Berkey. Those left to cherish Susan’s memory are her daughters, Angela Whittaker and husband, Timmy of Princeton, WV, Rhonda Jarvis and husband, Joseph of Princeton, WV; brothers, David Berkey, Randy Berkey, and Ricky Berkey; sisters, Patsy Berkey, Penny Massengill, and Judy Arnold; grandchildren, Samantha and Nicholas Jarvis, Michael, Kortney, Colton, Tucker, Tanner Whittaker. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Steven O’Donnell officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where David Massengill, James Hodges, Jr., Mack Phelps, Jr., Dennis Jarvis II, Philip Pruitt, and Michael Sharp will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Hodges family.
