Susan Marie Gullion

Susan Marie Gullion, 72, of Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at her home in Bramwell, WV.

Born on September 13, 1950, in Washington, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lotsy and Ruth Borcheck. Susan worked as a technical writer and a freelance writer.  She wrote for TRW, Gruman and the U.S. Pentagon.  She was published in numerous medical journals as well.  Her column “Simply Put”, was featured in the Bluefield Daily Telegraph, where she worked for over 10 years.

 In addition to her writing, Susan opened her own business while still finding time to volunteer with national animal rescue groups.  A graduate of Concord College, she was the secretary and member of the Bluewell Lions Club.

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her older brother, Dan Borcheck.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald E. Gullion of Bramwell; daughter, Jasi Marie Meade; son, Christopher William Artis; brother, Fred Borcheck; sisters, Vicky Pinkney and Karen Olson; and two granddaughters, Kathryn Dawn Artis and Julia Jasi Meade.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

Friends welcomed prior to services, from 3:00-4:00 PM at the funeral home.
