Stewart Lee Severt, 93, of Capulet Way, Bluefield, VA, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA.
Born on December 24, 1926, in Crystal, he was a son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Smith Severt. He had been a resident of Bluefield, VA for 6 years and was a retired coal miner with 31 years of service. He was a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Edward Severt; and two sisters, Elaine Cox and Shirley Gardner.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Clara Shields Severt; a son, Stewart Lee (Sadie) Severt, Jr. of Snellville, GA; two daughters, Cheryl (David) Sarver of Bluefield, VA and Deidra (Gary) Pennington of Roanoke, VA; grandsons, Toby and Matthew; granddaughters Karrie, Kaitlin, Cameron, and Allison; and great-grandson, Blaine; brothers, Arthur Glenn Severt, Jr. of Sandlick, Richard Everette Severt of Sandlick, and Clarence Severt of Sandlick; and sisters, Thelma Comerose of Princeton, WV, Jetty Akers of Bluefield, VA, and Wanda Wilburn of OH.
Private services for the immediate family will be conducted on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Ray Petty of the Falls Mills United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
