Steven Jerome Thornhill

Steven Jerome Thornhill 66 of 131 Grove Street, Bluefield Va departed his life unexpectantly on December 26, 2023, at the West Wood Center in Bluefield Va. Steven was born on August 22, 1957 in Pocahontas Va to the late Walter A Thornhill and Elizabeth June Thornhill-Wilkins. Steven attended public schools in Tazewell County, playing basketball and football and spending time with friends in the community.

Steven was employed by Fairmont Supply where he worked for over 30 plus years and Bluefield Va Rescue Squad as a life member. Steven loved children and coached sports. He loved the community, and the community loved him. 

In addition to his parents, Steven was proceeded in death by his wife Martha Thornhill, son Jason Thornhill, his sister Barbara Shelton, and brothers Claude Hamlin, Walter Thornhill, John Thornhill, Ronnie Thornhill, and Larry Thornhill.

Steven leaves to cherish his memories, one Uncle Eugene Bowers of Sacramento Ca, sisters Deloris Burke of Cincinnati Oh, Darlene Thornhill of Bluefield Wv, Charlene Thornhill of Sulfork Va, Yolanda Choate and Victoria Thornhill of Columbus Oh, a brother Anthony Thornhill of Palmer Alaska, one daughter Tonesia Thornhill-Croft and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, 3431 Coal, Heritage Rd Bluefield Wv. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Thornhill family.
