Steven Austin Hale

Steven Austin Hale of Graham, NC was called home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2024.  Native of Bluefield, WV, Austin was born June 29,1998 to Steven Hale and Kimberly Youngblood. He was born into brotherhood with Kevin, Nicholas, and Bret Hale.  Austin called Graham his home, where he lived most of his life with his Uncle William, calling his aunt, Valerie Shoe, his mother. He knew James and Will Shoe also as his brothers and Anna Thacker as his sister, Jennifer Pritt as his stepmother and Kaylee Hale his sister. From a large and extended family, Austin meant a lot of different things to a lot of different people, all of which will cherish his memory and miss him dearly.  Austin was a graduate of Mountaineer Challenge Academy in Kingwood, WV. He was always a brave soul; he knew what he wanted and never backed down. His laughter was contagious. He had a good heart. He would help anyone he could offer a hand to. Austin’s passion was art. He was an Artist. He loved fishing, swimming, camping, riding his bike….the great outdoors … a good amusement park ride, he loved to play carnival games… as many boys do…in his heart though, he loved art. He was an aspiring tattoo artist. Many of his closest friends and relatives wear his work proudly.  Austin will lay in his final resting place with his grandparents, James and Bernice Hale, who preceded him in death. He will rejoin them to rest in peace at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  A private family memorial and viewing will be held at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Crematory in Graham, NC at 3pm on Friday, September 6, 2024.  

Family and friends are welcomed to his final service on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 3pm in Bluewell, WV at Cravens-Shires Funeral Homes. As we mourn our loss we ask that we also remember to celebrate his life. A life that will be severely missed but never forgotten.
