Steve Aubrey Shrader

Steve Aubrey Shrader, 72, of S. Upshur Street, Bluefield, WV passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Born on November 26, 1945 in Freeman, he was a son of the late Aubrey Mason and Lillian Gertrude Helmandollar Shrader. He had been a resident of the Bluefield Area for over 40 years and was a former coal miner for Consol. He had also formerly worked in the maintenance departments at Princeton Community Hospital, Southern Highlands and Bluefield State College. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1963-1965.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother in laws: David Meskinish, Louie Letcher and Ron Perez.

Survivors include:

Wife of 44 years: Dora Meskinish Shrader of the home

Daughter: Leslie D. Hall and husband Billy of Princeton

Grandchildren: Kya and Isaac

Step grandchildren: Dalton and Casey Hall

Sisters: Barbara Letcher and children Becky (Ronnie) Carver, John Letcher, Ginger Freeman, and Laura Beth Letcher

Martha Perez and children Regina, Monica and Chonny

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Michael French officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where David Meskinish, II, Adam Meskinish, Billy Hall, Glenn Brinson, Ronnie Carver and Jared Sweigart will serve as pallbearers. The mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
