Stanley Eugene Emmert, always known as “Jake,” departed this life on November 29, 2020. Jake was born on June 5, 1945. He spent much of his life as a resident of Coalwood, WV but had lived the last 6 years in Bluefield, WV. He retired from Citizens Communications. He was a veteran of the United States Army and loved the New York Yankees, Westerns, and Trump. He was known as the kind, funny, loving telephone man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Jane Bailey Emmert and Jacob Samuel Emmert of Filbert; brothers, Larry Emmert, Richard Emmert, and Leon Emmert; sisters, Linda and Francis.
He is survived by many who are left behind to cherish his memory including daughters, Sabrina Fowler and husband, Joe, of SC, and Maryetta Rambo and husband, Ebbie, of Bluefield, VA; son, Jacob Emmert and wife, Serenna, of IN; his first granddaughter, Hannah Thomas is who he shared a home with these last six years – he shared a special bond with Hannah and her husband, Keith; in addition to Hannah, he has nine grandchildren, Hunter Lambert, Casey Shelton, Micah Brown, Hayden, Hazleigh, and Hudson Rambo, Morgan, Dallas, and Cierra Emmert; four great-grandchildren, Tatum Farley, Kinley Shelton, Amelia Lambert, and baby Thomas who has not arrived yet; brothers, Donald, J.C., Billy, and Ernest; Ernest was more of his dad and lifelong best friend; and sister, Connie Emmert.
Per Stanley’s wishes, he will be cremated. A private personal ceremony will be held at a later date for personal friends and family.
