Solomon Samuel Sowers

Solomon Samuel Sowers, 67, of Rock, WV passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Princeton Community Hospital.  Born February 1, 1953, Solomon was a son of the late Charles Edward and Eula Belle (Hubbard) Sowers.  He was a faithful member of the Montcalm Church of God.  Solomon was a retired CNA at Princeton Community Hospital and loved to fish and spend time outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Sarah Cayton.

Those left to cherish Solomon’s memory are his wife, Norma J. Giffin Sowers; children,  Stephen Sowers (Tracy) of Lindside, WV, Valerie (Sowers) Dillon (Anthony) of Peterstown, WV, Michael Sowers, of Lindside, WV, Jared Sowers (Erin) of Peterstown, WV; step-children, Daniel Dempsey (Melissa) of Elliston, VA, Paul Dempsey (Linda) of Bluefield, VA, Jeanette Eason of Bluefield, WV; brother, Joseph Sowers (Kim) of Arden, NC; sister, Ruth (Sowers) Urquhart (Robbie) of Peterstown, WV; grandchildren, Kirsten, Tiffany, Levi, Seth,  Caleb, Micah, Isaiah; step-grandchildren, David, Nick, Chris, Dawn, Sara, and Hank.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Mac Riggins and Dan Sowers officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com.  Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Sowers family.
