Shirley Marie Parks Williams

January 15, 1936 — March 26, 2021

Shirley Parks Williams, age 85, of Bluefield, West Virginia, died on Friday, March, 26, 2021 from complications following a stroke. She was in the Bower's Hospice located in Beckley, WV.

Born on January 15, 1936 in Eckman, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late John A. Parks and Sarah Elizabeth Buchannan Parks. She worked with Betsy Ross/Flowers bakery in the payroll department as well as Hills and Stone & Thomas department stores. She grew up in McDowell County and worked in the Welch and Northfork drug stores prior to moving to Bluewell, West Virginia. 

Survivors include:

Her husband of 50 years, Urschell Williams of Cedar Bluff, Virginia.

Her sons, Rick George of Bluefield, WV and Greg Williams of Lincolnton, NC. 

Her brother, Tommy Parks and wife Faye of Martinsville, VA.

Grandchildren include: Mycah Sylvain and husband William of Lexington, Kentucky; Benjamin George of Bluefield, WV and Nathaniel George currently in Fairmont, WV along with their mother, Becky Kauffman of Bluefield, WV. 

There will be a direct burial only at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell WV at 2:30 PM on Monday, March, 29, 2021. Anyone attending should proceed directly to the Woodlawn Mausoleum location, behind Bluewell United Methodist Church. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Parks Williams family.
