Shirley Hogan

Shirley Faye Hogan, age 86, of Bluefield, WV went to be with our Lord August 18, 2020 following a short illness.

Shirley was born June 4, 1934 in Keokee, VA, a daughter of the late Fred and Izel Tate of Big Stone Gap, VA.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Carlos Hogan, son Fred Hogan, and brother Jimmy Tate.

She was a 54 year member of Mid-Way Christian Church. Following her retirement from Sears Roebuck & Company, Shirley occasionally worked at Mercer Mall. She volunteered at Bluefield Regional Medical Center for 25 years, was a member of the Christian Craft Club, and was a longtime member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Shirley was a talented cook, crafter, and crocheter. Many will have fond memories of the fruits of her labor.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Carla Gaye Pochick (Tom) of Hurricane, WV; daughter-in-law, Kim Hogan of Bluefield; granddaughter Laura Ashlei See (Ryan) of Santa Clarita, CA, and grandson Hogan Tate Frazier of Bluefield, WV. She also leaves many friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, August 21, 2020 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, with Minister Dan Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

Friends may call prior to services on Friday, From 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
