Shelby Jean Lindsey

Shelby Jean Lindsey, 71, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital.

Born February 14, 1952, in Iaeger, WV, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Ance Steele, Sr. and Gladys Pearl Lowe Steele. Shelby was a resident of Bluefield for 52 years and a member of Bluefield Church of Christ. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Linda Gay Sells and son-in-law, Roger Lee Hazelwood.

Those left to cherish Shelby’s memory are her husband of 53 years, Donald Ray Lindsey of the home; daughters, Angela Dawn Hazelwood of Bluefield, WV, Melissa Ann Craddock and husband Harold Everett Craddock of Peterstown, WV, and Shannon Dee Findley and husband Thomas Douglas Findley Jr. of Meadowview, VA; grandchildren, Kayla Ashton Hazelwood and husband Zachary Richard Brown, Kari Jensen Taylor and husband Charles Evan Taylor, Zachary Kyle Meredith, and Jacob Ty Meredith and wife Malaysha Alexis Meredith; and brother, Virgil Ance Steele Jr. and wife Emma of Ballard, WV.

Funeral Services will be held, Friday, August 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home chapel in Bluewell, WV, with Minister Gary Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where, Harold Craddock, Doug Findley, Zachary Meredith, Jacob Meredith, Zachary Brown, and Evan Taylor will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may visit prior to services, from 12:30-2:00 PM on Friday.
