Sharon Lynn Jones

Sharon Lynn Jones, age 63, of Welch, WV, passed peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2020 at her home after a 3-year battle with cancer.  She was the daughter of the late Jack and Margaret Johnson of Burke Mt., Keystone, WV.  She was a member of Big Jenny Freewill Baptist Church for 40 years where she served as the Children’s Sunday School teacher. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Cookie Meadows and her brother, Kerry Johnson.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 44 years, Darrell Jones; her two sons, Kevin Jones and wife, Eugenia of Princeton, WV, and Timmy Jones and wife, Jacquline of Brushfork, WV; her sisters, Lori Johnson, Linda Mitchem, Rhonda Matney and Connie Monk; her brothers, Roger Johnson and wife, Judy, Rodney Johnson and wife, Kim, Michael Johnson, and Keith Johnson and wife, Becky; her three grandchildren, Hunter Jones, Jordan Jones and Hayden Jones. A special niece, Stephanie Jeffery and husband, Steven, and their son Jackson; her special church family (sisters), Rhonda Shumate, Jenny England, Phyllis Perkins and Sandy Rife.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, September 11, 2020 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Pastor Mervin White and Dennis Lester officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where Stacey England, Tracy Shumate, Steven Jeffery, Ricky Johnson, Randy Johnson, Brian Mitchem will serve as pallbearers.  Stacy England, Jr. will serve as an honorary pallbearer.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com.  A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, especially her nurse, Kim Farmer and Jamie Johnson.
