Sara Kathryn Workman

Sara Kathryn Workman February 26, 1937 – October 12, 2022

Sara K. Workman, 85 of Bluefield, WV passed away from this world on Wednesday, October 12 at home, to her Heavenly home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey W. Workman Jr, sister Mary Jane Spangler, parents Carl H.  and Clarice Spangler.

Sara was born in Bluefield, WV on February 26, 1937 and graduated from Bluefield High School in 1956. She married Aubrey in 1957 while he was serving in the Army. Aubrey and Sarah celebrated 65 years of marriage on August 1, 2022. She was a member of the Maple View Church of Christ. Sarah was always active in various school functions while her boys were in school, and a member of the Bluefield Junior Women’s club. Sarah loved trips to the beach, Claytor Lake, visiting friends at the Mercer Mall, working crossword puzzles and keeping a daily journal. Her home and family were her life and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include; sons Michael and Butch and his wife Mary Ann, grandchildren Adam and his wife Stephanie Workman, Kristen and her husband Grant and great granddaughter Tenley Powers, brother Mike and his wife Betty Spangler, niece Kathleen S. Spangler, nephew Sterling M. Spangler, sister Martha and her husband Bill Aldridge.

Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 12:00 Noon with Minister Richard Lindamood officiating. Burial will follow. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
