Sandra "Sandy" Jean Pugh

Sandra “Sandy” Jean Pugh, 63, of New Hope Road, Bluefield, West Virginia, gained her angel wings on January 14, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side. Sandy was born in Welch, West Virginia, on March 17, 1959, to the late William Robert and Rosie Mae (Morgan) Harmon. Sandy was a homemaker, avid crafter, loved fishing, playing rummy and her grandbabies. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, Nonnie, aunt and friend. With a smile that lit up any room she was in, her laughter was contagious.  She had an open-door policy with her home and heart and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters Isabel “Bell” Fox and Cynthia Harmon and brothers William “Billy” Harmon, Dennis Harmon and Roger Harmon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Steven L. Pugh, daughter Jessica Lea Shimel of the home, brothers Timothy Harmon and wife Susan of Montcalm, West Virginia; David Harmon and wife Drema of Gary, West Virginia; grandson Hunter Harmon of Montcalm, West Virginia; granddaughter Madison Shimel of the home, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to honor Sandy’s life will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, West Virginia.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m., until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Randall and Mary Brickey and Sister Dean Hatfield officiating.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  This is not a goodbye, but a see you later.  “To live in hearts, we leave behind is not to die.” Thomas Campbell.
