Sandra Kay Cottle

Sandra Kay Witten Cottle, 85, of Oakvale, died Tuesday August 29, 2023 at Princeton Health Care Center in Princeton. She was born February 4, 1938 at Columbia, Pennsylvania to Quinlan Allen and Bertha Davis Witten. Sandra was a retired teacher having taught in Summers County WV and Giles County Virginia. Sandra loved gospel music and played mostly piano at the Forest Hill churches for several years. She also was a sewing enthusiast, made many friends and created many quilts and clothing for others. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Scott Cottle, a sister, Freya Rebecca Anderson and a step-grandson. Survivors include her husband, George Cleon Cottle of Oakvale, WV; daughter Rebecca Cottle and wife Priscilla Casteel of Henrico, Va; daughter Kimberly Gatzek and husband Joe of Henrico Va; son George Witten Cottle and wife Michelle of Princeton, WV; daughter Sarra Hill Cottle of Burnsville NC; sister Noel Terry of Hampton Va; five grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm September 16, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church, Forest Hill, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Fairview Baptist Church, in care of Michelle Lucas, 13152 Greenville Rd., Forest Hill, WV 25935.
