Ruth Irene Popp

  Ruth Irene Popp, age 93, of Backwoods Avenue, Princeton, WV, formerly of Wolfe, died on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Princeton Health Care.   Born on April 16, 1924, in Jenkinjones, WV, she was a daughter of the late Riley and Ethel Byrd Greer. She had lived in Princeton for the past 6 years and was of the Protestant Faith. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zolie Popp; a son, John Popp; and a grandson, Jody Popp.   Survivors include:   Son: Daniel Ray Popp and wife Debbie of Nemours, WV   Daughters: Deborah Hodges and husband Harold of Princeton, WV                      Linda Woodard of Nauvoo, AL   Brothers: Roger Childs of Maryville, TX                  Lee Childs of Texas   Sisters: Betty Meeks of Princeton, WV              Patsy Holdern of Princeton, WV              Viola Woolridge of Pageton, WV   10 Grandchildren, Several Great-Grandchildren and Several Great-Great-Grandchildren   Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Dan Moore and Rev. David Hercey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday afternoon from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
