Ruth Cecelia Demarr

Ruth Cecelia Demarr, 77, of Green Valley, WV, formerly of Maryland, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born January 11, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Jane Thompson Combs. Ruth had been a resident of Green Valley for twelve years, was a member of the Church of Christ, and was a retired waitress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Demarr, Sr.; two sisters, Regina Knott and Betty Thompson; and brother, Joseph Tricket. Those left to cherish Ruth’s memory are her sons, Norman “Pete” Demarr, Jr. (Robin) of Pocahontas, VA, Roger W. Demarr and Joseph W. Demarr (Janice), both of MD; daughter, Norma Thompson of WV; brother, Wayne Sheets of FL; sisters, Jonie Sheets of FL, and Fran Thompson of GA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Also surviving is a her caregiver, Steve Freeman. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Duhring Church of Christ where members of the family will speak.
