Russel Wayne "Rusty" Gaither

Russel Wayne “Rusty” Gaither, of Wintergreen Street (Bluewell), Bluefield, WV, was welcomed into the Arms of Jesus on his 74th birthday, Friday, November 15, 2019 at his home.

Born on November 15, 1945 in McComas, he was a son of the late James R. and Violet Crawford Gaither. He was a graduate of Bluefield High School and was a veteran of the National Guard. He was a devoted member of the Bluefield First Pentecostal Holiness Church (Point of Contact Ministries). Rusty loved the Lord and dedicated his life to serving Him. He was the retired owner and operator of A1 Welding and East River Repair. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Ronnie and Clinton “Monk”.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Janet “Sue” Gills Gaither of the home; two daughters, Christie (Jeff) Bailey of Gloucester, VA and Jenni (Todd) Day of Tazewell, VA; two grandchildren who were light of his life, Maddie Day and CJ Bailey; and a brother, Terry (Sharon) Gaither of McCalla, AL.

At Rusty’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral. Private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
