Ruby Rose, 67, of Bluefield, a servant of the Most High God, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield.
Ruby was born on May 5, 1951 in Gary, WV. She was a daughter of the late Drewery and Carrie Leona Hart Rose. She was a member of the Conklintown Church of God and presently a member of the Bluefield VA Church of God.
She is survived by her sisters Linda Sadler and husband Tommy of the home, Frances Sadler and husband Danny of Bluefield, WV, and Betty Glass of Donalsonville, GA. She is also survived by a brother, Gene Rose and wife Thelma of Taylor, MI; sister in law, Alice Rose of Lincoln Park, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Ruby worked at the Super S in Welch where she met her best friend, Carolyn Bishop of 41 years. She also worked at Bailey Lumber Company, Stevens Clinic and retired from Welch Emergency Hospital as a radiology receptionist for 14 years. She also served as clerk for the Conklintown Church of God and Sunday School Secretary for her class at the Bluefield VA Church of God.
Ruby loved working for her Lord and Davior. She always helped at church sales and had a heart for serving people. She loved working outside and playing with her buddy, Noah. She also enjoyed going to camp each year. Ruby was also a 16-year cancer survivor!
A Celebration of Ruby’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Bishop Tony Ellis, Rev. Tommy Sadler, Jr., and Rev. Carolyn Bishop officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Rev. Tommy Sadler, Jr., Matt Sadler, Bobby Brown, Kevin Morrison, Tony Magino, and Walter Kidd will serve as pallbearers. A special honorary pallbearer will be Noah Sadler.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8Pm at the funeral home.
