Ruby Joyce Munsey

Ruby Joyce Thomas Munsey of Montcalm quietly went home with the Lord surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her residence.
Ruby was born on May 31, 1939 in Bastian, Virginia to the late Maggie Neal Thomas and Jasper Thomas. Ruby was employed with Bluefield Gas Company for 20 years as computer operator and Wal-Mart for 7 years. Over the years she was a caregiver for several family members. Ruby was a faithful member to the Church of Christ religion. She was a graduate of Rocky Gap High School in Rocky Gap, Virginia.
In addition to her parents Ruby was preceded in death by two sisters; Jewel Richardson and Frances Hule, along with two brothers Douglas Thomas and William “Bill” Thomas.
Left to cherish her memories are his husband of 56 years Ralph Munsey Sr. of the home and her son Ralph Munsey Jr and wife Tonia of Montcalm, West Virginia. One grandson R.J. Munsey and wife Alexis of Wright Mountain and one Granddaughter Mandy Stump and husband Randy of Montcalm, West Virginia. Two great grandchildren, Gracelyn and Connor Munsey as well as a host of special nieces and nephews. Caregivers Idena Mitchell, Latisha Lewis, Marline Basham and Cathy Scott.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), West Virginia with Rev. David Kirby officiating the funeral service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, West Virginia where Timothy Cox, Eric Smith, Roy Spaulding, Robert “Budgee” Havens, Allen White and Jimmy Shrewsbury will be serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jeff Havens and Smokey Havens.
The Munsey family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
