Rose Mary Baker

Rose Mary Baker, 78, of Boissevain, VA, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Tazewell Community Hospital.

Born on July 5, 1945, in TN, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Clarence William and Mary Moore Breese. She had been a resident of Boissevain since 1978 and was a member of the ClearFork Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Edward “Eddie” Baker, Jr.; brother, Clarence “Billy” Breese; sister, Kathleen Blessing; and a son in law, James “Alan” Sawyers.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Rev. Paul E. Baker, Sr. of the home; daughter, Pamela D. Sawyers of Boissevain, VA; a brother, Charles “Buddy” Breese and wife Charlotte of NC; sister, Judy Walker of Bluefield, VA, and several nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Kenneth Gillespie and Rev. Paul E. Baker, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield,  VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Wednesday prior to services, from 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home.
