Roscoe “Elmer” Brown, 95, of Garland Avenue, Princeton, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Mercer Nursing & Rehab.
Born on June 16, 1923 in Clenchville, VA, he was a son of the late Lillie Mae Hicks Brown and Lonnie Brown. He was retired from Bally Manufacturing Company in Chicago, IL. He retired in 1990 and moved to Princeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Wilma; son, Michael and Daughter, Susie; brothers, Sam, Henry, Harry, Walter and James; and sister, Ethel. Elmer was the last surviving member of his family.
Survivors include his son, Roger (Helen) Brown of Lombard, IL; 5 grandsons, and 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Eddie and Rhonda Thornton who helped so much with his care.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call prior to services, from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
