Rosa Taylor

August 4, 1925 — May 3, 2022

Rosa Danish “Tucker” Taylor, 96, of Sandlick, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at her home.

Born on August 4, 1925 in Goodwill, WV, she was a daughter of the late James Edward and Collie May Taylor Tucker. Our Mother “What a Lady”. All of her life, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She cared for many people in our home. As long as we children can remember, Mom had someone living in our home. She would take them in and care for them until they were able to stand on their own. Every child around her that got hurt would go to “Granny Rosie Taylor” to let her fix the hurt, and she would! Mom and Dad worked together, pastoring, evangelizing, singing and doing all they could to point others to Jesus. We, as a family, were so blessed, to be able to care for her at home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Junior Thurman Taylor, a son, Earl Junior Taylor, a daughter, Glenna Joyce Taylor Dempsey; a son in law, Calvin O’Donnell; grandson, Robbie Hodges; three brothers, Bruce, John, and Bernard Tucker; three sisters, Mable “Tucker” Moon, Thelma Tucker Beasley, and Lucille Tucker Tilley.

She leaves behind 4 daughters, Brenda Taylor (Fred) Mooney, Linda Taylor O’Donell, Deborah Taylor (Danny) Lester, Dianna Taylor (Mick) East; 2 sons, Jerry (Becky) Taylor and Terry (Lisa) Taylor; 18 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Steven Poore, Rev. Wanda Blevins, and Rev. David Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell.
