Ronald Ray Purdy

Ronald Ray Purdy, 83, of Lorton Lick Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Raleigh General Hospital.

Born on April 29, 1936 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Ruby Ray Purdy. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a retired truck driver. He attended the Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Rogers Purdy of the home; a son, Frank Purdy of Rogersville, TN; 2 daughters, Rebecca Purdy of Bluefield, and Rose Marie Hurd of Buchanan, VA; two stepsons, John Davis of North Wilkesboro, NC and Brian Davis of Montcalm; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and a friend, Larry S. Patrick, Jr. of Bluefield.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Jimmy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
