Ronald Blake Bailey, 78, of Camilla Drive, Bluefield passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on November 18, 1939 in Welch, he was a son of the late Garney and Hazel Bailey. He was formerly of McDowell County and had lived in Bluefield for 5 years. He was a retired coal miner with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Marines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Workman.

Survivors include:

Wife: Betty Day Bailey of the home

Stepsons: Howard Workman of Pineville
Don Workman of Princeton
Carl Workman of Anawalt

Stepdaughters: Katherine Workman of Sandlick
Anna Scott of Sandlick
Betty Scott of Sandlick

16 step grandchildren and 15 step-great grandchildren

Brother: Robert Bailey of McDowell County

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Robert Huddler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Carol Workman, Jonathan Workman, Larry Scott, Ryan George, Brandon Roark, and Howard Workman, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
